She has taught at the University of Cincinnati, USA. Since 1994, she has been with the Department of Geography, University of the Aegean. Her research interests include socio-ecological systems analysis, land use change, desertification, planning, policy integration and tourism.\u00a0 Recently, she is applying Assemblage Thinking to the study of tourism. She has published several academic papers, book chapters and books on tourism planning, policy, tourism and the environment, sustainable development and the commons. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism and Environmental Management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Prof. Keith Dewar, <\/em><em>University of New Brunswick \u2013 Saint John, Canada<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tourism in H\u00f3lar or Not? The case of a reluctant rural destination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-128 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Picture2-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"182\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Picture2-300x265.jpg 300w, https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Picture2.jpg 688w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 182px) 100vw, 182px\" \/>Prof. Dewar holds a bachelors and PhD in Environmental Studies (Geography), University of Waterloo; Diploma in Horticulture, University of Guelph; MA (Geography) Carleton University, and a Bachelor of Education (Biology and Geography) from Lakehead University. Prof. Dewar spent 20 years with Parks Canada as a naturalist and visitor services officer in several national parks. In 1992 he moved to New Zealand where he spent 10 years teaching tourism and heritage management at Massey University-Auckland. His research is largely applied and includes over 50-refereed papers and tourism planning reports. His major areas of research are visual image analysis in tourism, protected area management, and sustainable tourism planning in small towns &#8211; rural areas. His teaching is diverse from tourism management and planning to environmental management and sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Dr Sam Kim, Assoc. Professor, School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-123 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Sam-225x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"159\" height=\"212\" srcset=\"https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Sam-225x300.png 225w, https:\/\/iatour.org\/icot2018\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Sam.png 354w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 159px) 100vw, 159px\" \/>Dr Sam Kim received Master of Science and PhD in Recreation, Park and Tourism Sciences from the Texas A&amp;M University in 1996 and 1999, respectively. Dr Kim had been Professor from 2010 to 2012 at Sejong University, Seoul, Korea. He joined the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in August 2012. Dr Kim\u2019s main research interests include destination marketing, tourism impacts, and convention\/event management. He has published more than 120 papers on refereed international journals. He is one of the most prolific authors in the tourism and hospitality academia. He is a Director of Education of APac-CHRIE Association and serves on the Editorial Board of international journals.
